ABOUT OUR PRACTICE

Healing, Reimagined

Gilded Peace Counseling (GPC) is a fully virtual therapy practice rooted in multicultural, inclusive, and anti-oppressive care. We specialize in supporting folks from often-marginalized communities — including those living with chronic illness or pain, recovering from high-control religious environments, or navigating intersecting identities as Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and/or disabled individuals.

Therapy with GPC is never one-size-fits-all. Every service we offer is flexible and collaborative. We’re here to explore the tools and modalities that feel right for you — and only when you’re ready.

Meet Tia

I’m a multicultural, queer-affirming therapist committed to holding space for clients from diverse, intersecting backgrounds. I know the value of being exactly who I am in this work — and I want you to feel free to do the same.

My approach is rooted in

  • ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)

  • Trauma-Informed Care

  • Neurobiologically-Informed methods like EMDR, Brainspotting, and Hypnotherapy.

I also provide letter writing services and assessments, particularly for gender-affirming care and emotional support animals.

"I can't make you..."

is something you’ll hear often in sessions with me — and I mean it with love. I bring the education, the clinical training, and the tools — but you're the expert on your life.

Therapy at GPC is a partnership, and you always have the final say in what healing looks like for you.

Who do We Work With?

therapy‑for‑anxious‑queers

CLIENT TYPE ONE

K arrived in therapy feeling stuck between people-pleasing and resentment. They didn’t know how to name what they needed—let alone ask for it.

In our work, we made space for their feelings, redefined boundaries as acts of care, and softened old beliefs about being “too much.”

Now, K is learning to take up space with clarity and self-respect.

CLIENT TYPE FOUR

After a chronic illness diagnosis, G struggled to recognize themself. The grief wasn’t just physical—it touched their identity, relationships, and sense of independence.

Therapy became a space to mourn, reimagine, and reframe. G began to honor their limits not as failures, but as adaptations.

CLIENT TYPE TWO

F came in holding the weight of trauma past rejections—social, familial, and internalized. Their nervous system was always braced for the next “no.”

Through relational repair and somatic practices, they started to recognize safety in their body and relationships again. Slowly, F began to feel deserving of connection.

CLIENT TYPE FIVE

H’s inner voice was relentless. Every mistake, delay, or emotion came with harsh self-judgment. In therapy, we got curious about the origin of that voice—and how it once served as protection.

With time and gentleness, H began to relate to themself with the same care they offered others.

CLIENT TYPE THREE

Z is a chronically tired high achiever who always pushed through. They came to therapy feeling disconnected, burned out, and unsure how to slow down without guilt.

Together, we explored the fears beneath their constant doing—and practiced rest as a form of resistance.

Over time, Z began to believe that they didn’t need to earn their worth through exhaustion.

CLIENT TYPE SIX

Q was raised between cultures and often felt they didn’t fully belong anywhere. Therapy became a space to name the in-between, explore inherited expectations, and reclaim the richness of their layered identity.

Q is now grounding into their values—and unlearning the need to explain themself.
